InfoCare business strategy and long term visions have always pointed out environmental respect and consideration as a clear focus area. The Finnish and Swedish on-site operations are certified according to ISO 14001 and all InfoCare companies are now in the process of being ISO-certified during 2010. Environmental processes and well defined goals constitute the ground of our Green IT concept where “constant development and improvements” are cornerstones. These cornerstones apply to internal processes as well as service offerings directed to partners and customers.

 
Employee commitment
As a truly services company, insight and understanding from all employees is crucial. Process descriptions, goals and measurement results are easy accessible from our Intranet sites. We perform regular internal reviews to secure knowledge of our own processes as well as laws and regulations.
 
Specified targets and follow-up
We strive to reduce the negative environmental impact inevitable caused by a travelling organisation like ours. As a result we got specified targets for optimising call dispatching and planning in order to reduce travelling.
Another target is annual reduction of CO2 which can be affected by various actions in connection to the service car fleet and of course by the activities mentioned above.
Energy saving activities and reduction of paper consumption are other goals to reach on annual basis.
 
Internal possibilities
Daily cooperation between functions and countries is necessary within a company such as InfoCare with its Nordic and Baltic presence and we strive to replace most physical meetings with data and telephone supported meetings. A majority of internal meetings between countries, departments, teams and functions take place without the attendants having to travel.
 
As an IT service company we support all use of energy saving activities related to modern IT equipment and we always handle waste according to rules of low environmental impact.
 
Internal routines for scrapping, recycling and handling of spare parts and consumer goods follow country laws, regulations and recommendations. We have agreements with local organizations e.g. in Sweden we use El-kretsen and REPA. Where these organizations aren’t represented, we use other local equivalent companies or organizations.
 
Environmental consideration – a way of expanding businesses
Our ability to develop and design our service offerings has a direct impact on the environment, e.g. when reducing transports and travelling.
 
We define our service offerings and delivery processes to support general commitment to environmental issues and at the same time we have a strong desire to give contribution that helps developing our branch in a positive way related to employees as well as customers.
 
Modern technique constantly brings new possibilities and we can design services where customer are assured the same functionality while using new form of green IT oriented services and delivery processes.

The green perspective and all its possibilities are still to be explored. We, as well as our partners and customers, will experience lots of changes. We think of this environmental orientation, both internally and in connection to our marketing offers, as a tool to achieve progress as well as success. Therefore we regard constant changes as a natural and positive result of our commitment.
